Flap Gates
The Fontaine-Aquanox series 92 stop gate is a removable barrier for use in open-channels. They are generally installed and removed either manually or with owner-supplied lifting equipment, depending on the size.
Usage:
-
Channels: Installed in an existing channel or embedded into the walls of a new channel - It is also available in flange back design for installation on a concrete wall at the end of a channel. The bottom section is available in a flush-bottom version (embedded or wall mounted) or surface mounted when installed in an existing channel.
The series 60 flap gate is the simplest way to prevent flows of water from returning back into pipes or openings. The gate design is such that whatever the size, a small flow will open the gate in negative pressure, but it will remain watertight for positive pressure. On larger sizes, the flap can be adjusted to open under a specific head of water since its adjustable hinges can modify the force needed to push the flap.

The hinges of these flap gates use a self-lubricating UHMWPE bushing to prevent metal-to-metal contact, thereby reducing friction and easing the operation.

Even if the flap gate is not used for a long period of time, there is no risk that the hinges will rust or seize.
A resilient lip seal is used to achieve low leakage between the frame and flap. All our Flap Gates are made with high quality materials, such as 304L or 316L grade stainless steel, ensuring the best corrosion resistance for a long life in the toughest environments with virtually no maintenance required.
Fontaine-Aquanox series 60 have been designed with contractors in mind and are very easy to install with the use of the thick wall gasket and standardized components. Many different mounting options are offered to match the specific needs of each application.
Fontaine-Aquanox series 60D is the heavy-duty version of our circular flap gates that can handle water hammer shocks of the toughest kind.

It will prevent flows of water from returning back into pump discharge pipes at the end of the line. The gate design is made in such a way that the flap gate will not be damaged by the slamming action of sudden mass of water coming at high speed after the pump starts. These Flap gates are made to be bolted to a standard pipe flange, or to be anchored to concrete in front of the pipe end. Available to a maximum size of 24in (600mm).

The hinges of SERIES 60 flap gates use a self-lubricating UHMWPE bushing to prevent metal-to-metal contact, thereby reducing friction and easing the operation. Combined with the larger hinges and pivot arms, their heavy-duty bumper spring will aborb all shocks preventing damage to any part of the gate.
