Multi-Turn Actuators

In compliance with ISO 5210, a multi-turn actuator is capable of withstanding thrust applied to the valve and transmits torque to the valve for at least one revolution. In general, multi-turn actuators are required to perform more than one revolution. Consequently, gate valves are often equipped with rising valve stems. They are operated on the basis of several revolutions performed by the multi-turn actuator. Therefore, the multi-turn actuator is equipped with a hollow shaft housing the gate valve stem for these applications.

Usage:

  • Slide/Sluice Gates. For example any Fontaine actuated gate

  • Knife Gate and Traditional wedge and double disk gate valves

  • Any valve that requires more than 90deg of travel. Often due to torque/rimpull customer requirements.

MODULAR ALLROUNDERS

7 to 23,600 ft-lbs ~ Constant Speed actuators

  • Actuators of the SA type range for open-close duty and positioning duty are rated for class A and B or types of duty S2 – 15 min. A special version for longer running is available for the S2 – 30 min duty.

  • The modulating actuators of the SAR range are rated for class C or types of duty S4 - 25 %. Special versions for S4 - 50 % and S5 - 25% are also available.

  • Actuators of type range SA/SAR can be combined with various controls from simple OPEN-CLOSE control to the micro-controlled version with logging of operating data or fieldbus interface.

SAV/SARV Actuators

7 to 737 ft-lbs ~ Variable Speed actuators.

SAV/SARV Actuators
  • With SAV .2 multi-turn actuators for open-close duty and SARV .2 for modulating duty paired with ACV .2 actuator controls, the proven AUMA SA/SAR range is enhanced by variable speed models. AUMA is spearheading market technology offering a wide speed control ratio of 1:10.

  • Actuators of the SAV type range for open-close duty and positioning duty are rated for class A and B or types of duty S2 – 15 min. A special version for longer running is available for the S2 – 30 min duty.

  • Actuators of the SARV type range are rated for class C or types of duty S4 – 25 %. Special versions for S4 – 50 % are also available.

SEVEN

7 to 2,950 ft-lbs ~ Variable speed actuator

Variable speed actuator SEVEN

Variable in Speed, Resistance against Voltage and Frequency fluctuations.

  • Use of a specially developed frequency converter offers tremendous advantages. The most important features are variability in speed, resistance against voltage and frequency fluctuations, no current peaks during start-up as well as gentle operation of the valve by reducing speed in end positions. The robust design is extremely resilient against environmental influences (standard corrosivity class C5, IP67, double
sealed – protection is also ensured during commissioning) and can be further enhanced as an option.

  • The SEVEN actuator is available in three electronics variants: ECOTRON, PROFITRON and HiMod.

SA-UW and SAR-UW Actuators

For continuous underwater use

SA-UW.png
  • A sophisticated sealing system combined with excellent corrosion protection properties qualify AUMA actuators for underwater use.

  • Double sealed cable glands at the electrical connection safely prevent any ingress of water. Inner seals at all housing covers, sometimes coming in pairs, as well as a solid shaft made of stainless steel complete the universal concept.

COMPACT ACTUATORS

PROFOX PF-M

Available in part-turn versions (PROFOX PF-Q)

PROFOX PF-M
  • Compact actuators offer solutions for butterfly, globe, ball and plug valves through their tailored autmation solutions.

  • Each PROFOX is equipped with a centrally located LED: The FOX-EYE. It provides clearly visible information about both actuator and valve status. The FOX-EYE display scheme can be configured by the user as required.

TIGRON TR-M

TIGRON TR-M
  • The TRIGON multi-turn actuator offers automation of gate valves with or without rising stem as well as double block and bleed valves.

  • Six gearbox type ranges are part of AUMA’s product portfolio. They are ideally suited to complete and enhance TIGRON’s application range even to other valve designs. This includes numerous butterfly valves or the conventional ball valves of the oil- and gas industry requiring a part-turn movement of mostly 90 degrees. In these cases, TIGRON is combined with AUMA part-turn gearboxes.

  • AUMA linear thrust units convert TIGRON’s multi-turn into a thrust movement which is required for globe valve automation.
